slater(3).jpgDr. David Slater has been a practicing dentist in the Arlington, Texas area for 20 years.  He is an innovator in cosmetic dentistry and provides the latest in equipment and procedures by offering cutting-edge technologies in tooth whitening, porcelain veneers, and all phases of restorative dentistry.  Dr. Slater believes, "the relationship with our patients is much more important then just treating their teeth - we want our patients for a lifetime."

Dr. Slater received a doctorate of dental surgery from the University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston in 1983. He is one of only 55 dentists who have achieved mentorship status from the Creating Restorative Excellence Center in Seattle, Washington.  This honor allows him to teach dentists from around the world.  He has also attended postgraduate training in St. Petersberg, Florida at Dr. Pete Dawson's Center for Advanced Dental Studies and at the Louisiana State University Dental School in New Orleans.

Dr. Slater is an annual volunteer for the Smiles for Life Foundation.  The Smiles for Life Foundation is the children's charity organization of the Crown Council. Each year over a four-month period, Crown Council dentists participating in the Smiles for Life campaign offer teeth whitening at less than their normal fee and donate 100% of the cost to children's charities across the United States and Canada.  Dr. Slater helped raise $2.25 million last year to support 250 different children's charities around the country. In addition, he has hosted a "Do a Good Deed Contest," an essay contest which awards a computer to the child who does the best deed.

Dr. Slater is a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, Texas Dental Association, Texas Academy of Dental Practice Administration, the Texas Academy of Dental Lasers, the Crown Council, and the American Association of Orthodontics.

In his spare time, Dr. Slater is an active member of the area Chamber of Commerce, a supporter of the Arlington Theater, River Legacy Science Center, and the Fielder Museum.  He and his wife, Tammi, live in North Arlington with their daughter, Raina, and are active members with Hurst First Methodist Church.
